Instant Medu Vada

Mildly spiced bread fritters with yoghurt and rice flour




 INGREDIENTS -
preparation time- 5 min
cooking time-10 min
serve-4
  • Bread slices-6
  • Rice flour-1/2 cup
  • Curd-1/2 cup
  • Green chillies-2 
  • Ginger-1/2 inch
  • Curry leaves-8
  • Fresh coriander-2 tbls
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 t.s
  • Crushed pepper corns-8
  • Salt-1/2 t.s
PROCEDURE-
  1. Tear bread into small pieces and  finely chop ginger, curry leaves and chillies .
  2. Now add bread,chillies,ginger,curd,rice flour and all the spices and mix well.
  3. If it feels too fry then add 1-2 t.s water and make a medium soft dough.
  4. Cover and rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Make medium size balls from the dough
  6. Grease your palm with oil or water,flatten the ball on your palm.
  7. Make a hole in the center with your thumb,.make all the vadas and keep them in a plate
  8. Heat oil in a pan,and deep fry the vadas on medium heat till golden and crisp.
  9. Serve hot .
Serving suggestion-serve with sambhar, rasam or chutney
